Summary


    A VR rigging project developed using Unity’s Animation Rigging package to create a fully interactive virtual character with realistic body, hand, and finger movements. The system was designed for immersive VR experiences and tested on Meta Quest 3, ensuring smooth, accurate motion tracking.

    The character model was sourced from Mixamo and adapted for custom rigging workflows. The project integrates multiple rigging and constraint techniques to achieve natural movement:

  • 🪶 Head Movement: Applied Multi-Parent Constraint to smoothly synchronize head orientation with the player’s headset movement.
  • ✋ Hand Motion: Used Chain IK to achieve anatomically correct wrist and hand positioning.
  • 🖐 Finger Tracking: Integrated real-time VR controller input mapping so that finger movements in the real world are mirrored by the virtual character with high accuracy.
  • 🦶 Foot Placement: Implemented IK Foot Solver (credit to VALEM Tutorials) for precise foot alignment and stability during motion, preventing foot sliding and ensuring grounded steps.
